2004 Men's Basketball Awards
The 2004 UCAA End-of-Season Awards, announced February 26.

2004 UCAA Player of the Year
Joe Smith   Hamilton
Senior Forward (Sherrill, New York)
The leading scoring in the conference at 20.9 points per game, Smith was also second in the UCAA in rebounding with 10.5 per game. A five-time UCAA Forward of the Week, Smith was named ECAC Upstate Co-Player of the week on February 17. Smith helped Hamilton to a share of the conference title and the top seed in the UCAA tournament.

2004 UCAA Co-Rookie of the Year
Nick Jones   Clarkson
Forward (Washington, D.C.)
A three-time UCAA Rookie of the Week, Jones was also named Forward of the Week on one occasion. His 14.8 points per game in conference play ranked 6th in the UCAA, and helped Clarkson to a share of the conference title.

2004 UCAA Co-Rookie of the Year
Tsakane Ngobeni   Hamilton
Forward (Soweto, South Africa)
A three-time UCAA Rookie of the Week, Ngobeni was also named to the Hamilton Invitational All-Tournament team on January 4th. He ranked 7th in the conference in overall scoring (14.2 ppg) and 9th in league play (13.6 ppg). His efforts helped Hamilton to a share of the conference title and the top seed in the UCAA tournament.

2004 UCAA Coaching Staff of the Year
Tom Murphy   Hamilton
One of only four coaches ever to reach 600 victories in Division III, Murphy led Hamilton to the top seed in the conference tournament in his final season on the Continetal's bench. He has recorded 30 consecutive winning seasons at Hamilton, as he and assistants Stan Evans, Josh Loeffler and Randie Torgalski have guided the team to a 17-7 mark through the regular season.
