2003 Women's Cross-Country Awards
The 2003 UCAA End-of-Season Awards, announced December 2.
2003 UCAA Runner of the Year
Amy Barr St. Lawrence
Senior (Canton, New York)
Barr became the first St. Lawrence runner to win the individual title at the
UCAA championship meet as she led the St. Lawrence team to victory with just 18
points in the team placings. Barr was also the top UCAA finisher at the NYSCTC
championships finishing seventh overall. At the NCAA regionals, Barr's ninth
place finish was best among UCAA competitors and helped the Saints secure
fourth place and a bid to the NCAA championships for the second time in program
history.
2003 UCAA Rookie of the Year
Liz Ludovici St. Lawrence
(Lyons Falls, New York)
Ludovici led all first-year competitors with a fourth-place showing at the UCAA
championships as St. Lawrence cruised to the team championship with 18 points.
She was also the top UCAA rookie and second among all first-years at both the
NYSCTC championships and the NCAA regional qualifier with overall finishes of
14th and 24th respectively.
2003 UCAA Coach of the Year
Deb Lyndaker St. Lawrence
Lyndaker guided the Saints to their second-over trip to the NCAA championships
with a fourth-place finish at the NCAA reigional qualifier. The Saints won
their second straight UCAA championship with a record-low 18 points, and were
third in the NYSCTC championships.
