2003 Women's Soccer Awards
The 2003 UCAA End-of-Season Awards, announced November 7.
2003 UCAA Player of the Year
Jen Munoz Hamilton
Senior Goalkeeper (Old Bridge, New Jersey)
Munoz started all 7 UCAA conference matches for the Continentals, recording a
0.55 goals against average, a .907 save percentage, and four shutouts. In
overall play she has posted eight shutouts and a 9-3-2 record. She was named
UCAA Defensive Performer of the Week three times, and ECAC Goalkeeper of the Week
on October 28.
2003 UCAA Rookie of the Year
Nikki Dudley William Smith
Goalkeeper (Canastota, New York)
Dudley posted a 0.75 goals against average in the William Smith net in
conference play as the Herons allowed just 5 goals in 7 league games. She
posted eight shutouts in overall play. Dudley was named UCAA Rookie of the
Week on five occasions this season and also earned Defensive Performer of the
Week once.
2003 UCAA Coaching Staff of the Year
Colette Gilligan Hamilton
Gilligan, along with assistants Patty Kloidt and Mario Reyes, led the Hamilton
program to nine regular-season wins for first time since 1986. Among the wins
was Hamilton's first victory against Union since 1994, upsetting the then
fifth-ranked Dutchwomen 1-0 on October 25. Hamilton has earned a second
straight UCAA Playoff berth, claiming the third seed this year.
