The 2004 Liberty League End-of-Season Awards, announced November 4.
2004 Liberty League Player of the Year
Erin Lloyd St. Lawrence
Senior Forward (Corinth, New York)
A three-time all-league selection, Lloyd was the leading point scorer in
Liberty League play this season accumulating 10 goals and 5 assists for 25
points in 7 league contests. In the course of her four-year career she has 39
goals and 23 assists for 101 points and is currently fourth all-time in St.
Lawrence field hockey history.
2004 Liberty League Rookie of the Year
Rachel Cahan Rochester
Goalkeeper (Evanston, Illinois)
Starting all 19 games for the Yellowjackets this season, Cahan ranked third in
the league in overall goals-against average and fourth in league play. She was
named Liberty League Rookie of the Week on October 25 after stopping all nine
shots she faced in a 1-0 win at Vassar.
2004 Liberty League Coaching Staff of the Year
Sally Scatton William Smith
Scatton, along with assistants Missy Krempa, Lisa Kadien, and Warren Prestwich,
led the sixth-ranked Herons through the Liberty League regular season unscathed
for the seventh time since the inception of the conference in 1995. She has
guided the Herons to 17 consecutive winning seasons. The Herons are 4-2 against
ranked teams this season with wins over then No. 14 Manhattanville, No. 13
Ithaca, No. 16 Skidmore, and No. 13 Lebanon Valley.
