The 2006 Liberty League End-of-Season Awards, announced November 28.
2006 Liberty League Runner of the Year
Colin Sanders Vassar
Junior (Gaylord, Michigan)
Sanders earned NCAA Division III All-America status after finishing 19th out of 279 runners at the
NCAA Championships on November 18, becoming only the second All-America in Vassar cross country history.
A four time Liberty League Performer of the Week, Sanders won three races this season, including the ECAC Division III Championships.
His eighth place finish at the NCAA Atlantic Regional Championship was best among Liberty League Runners.
2006 Liberty League Rookie of the Year
Eric Wyler Rensselaer
(Pottstown, Pennsylvania)
A five-time selection as Liberty League Rookie of the Week, Wyler was the top rookie finisher with a
seventh place finish at the Liberty League Championships, and was first among Liberty League rookies
at both the NYSCTC Championships and the NCAA Atlantic Regional Championships.
2006 Liberty League Coach of the Year
Colin Tory Rensselaer
Under Tory's guidance, Rensselaer was the top Liberty League team at both the NYSCTC Championships (sixth) and the
NCAA Atlantic Regional Championships (eighth). The Redhawks finished second at the Liberty League Championships and
placed ten student-athletes on the Liberty League All-Academic Team.
