The 2006 Liberty League End-of-Season Awards, announced November 2.
2006 Liberty League Player of the Year
Greg Rogan Hamilton
Senior Forward (Cork, Ireland)
Hamilton's all-time leader in points with 70, Rogan ranks first in the Liberty League with 1.42 points
per game and five game-winning goals. Now a three-time selection to the Liberty League first team,
Rogan was twice selected Liberty League Offensive Performer of the Week this season. His efforts helped
Hamilton claim the #1 seed for the Liberty League Championship Tournament as the Continentals scored
a league-best 16 goals in league play and will host the championship tournament for the first time.
2006 Liberty League Rookie of the Year
Ryan Banagan Union
Midfield (Delmar, New York)
A starter in the midfield for Union throughout the season, Banagan led all Liberty League rookies in
goals (6), assists (4), and points (16). He was selected the Liberty League Rookie of the Week once,
and helped Union to a 9-5-3 overall record this season.
2006 Liberty League Coaching Staff of the Year
Shawn Griffin Hobart
Griffin led the Hobart soccer team to its best season since 1992, posting a regular season record of 12-2-2.
The Statesmen were unbeaten in the Liberty League with a record of 5-0-2, allowing only three goals in league play.
Hobart has been been nationally ranked all season, climbing as high as seventh, and is making its first appearance
in the Liberty League Tournament since 2003. Griffin is assisted by Ryan Brooks.
