2007 Men's Cross-Country Awards
The 2007 Liberty League End-of-Season Awards, announced November 29.
2007 Liberty League Runner of the Year
Peter Kosgei Hamilton
Sophomore (Kapsabet, Kenya)
Running cross-country for the first time, Kosgei won every race he entered all season leading up to the
NCAA Division III Championships where his second place finish earned first team All-America honors. His
individual victories included the Liberty League Championships, the NYSCTC Championships, and the NCAA
Atlantic Regional Championships.
2007 Liberty League Rookie of the Year
Eli Howard St. Lawrence
(Richmond, Vermont)
A six-time selection as Liberty League Rookie of the Week, Howard made an immediate impact for the Saints in his first season with the team.
He finished his rookie campaign with five top-10 finishes, including a 3rd place showing in the Liberty League Championships. He was 10th
at the NYSCTC Championships and 16th at the NCAA Atlantic Regional, earning an individual bid to the 2007 NCAA Championships where he finished in 77th place overall.
2007 Liberty League Coach of the Year
John Newman St. Lawrence
Coach Newman led the Saints to their 13th straight Liberty League team title, and to the No. 12 spot in
the national rankings, the highest in the program's history. His team also won the Pre-Regional Meet at NYU,
and qualified two student-athletes for the 2007 NCAA Division III Men's Cross Country Championships.
