2007 Liberty League Player of the Year
Gary Sroka Rensselaer
Senior Forward (Liverpool, NY)
A two-time selection as Liberty League Offensive Performer of the Week, Sroka was the leading scorer in the league with 11 goals
and five assists for 27 points. His 38 shots on goal were 11 more than any other player in the league. He was involved in more
than half of Rensselaer's goals this season, scoring or assisting on 16 of 31 Red Hawk goals. The Rensselaer captain recorded three game-winning
goals this season in wins over Clarkson, Alfred, and Vassar, and had a seven-game point scoring streak from September 21 to October 13.
2007 Liberty League Rookie of the Year
Scott Desmond Clarkson
Forward (Enfield, Connecticut)
A two-time selection as Liberty League Rookie of the Week, Desmond was the second-leading scorer for Clarkson this season.
He scored the lone goal in a 1-0 upset of Geneseo (ranked 15th nationally at the time) on September 7, and the game-tying goal
in a 1-1 draw with Elmira on September 14.
2007 Liberty League Coaching Staff of the Year
Bob Durocher St. Lawrence
In his 18th year as head coach at St. Lawrence, Durocher coached the team to the regular season title for the
ninth time this season. The Saints posted a 4-1-2 mark in Liberty League play and carry an 8-2-6 overall record into the
Liberty League tournament. Durocher is assisted by Nick Hillary.
