The 2008 Liberty League End-of-Season Awards, announced March 17.
2008 Liberty League Player of the Year
Jim Bristow Rochester
Sophomore (Devon, England)
Posting a record of 19-3 on the season, Bristow was named a first-team All-American
after earning the #8 seed in the CSA Individual Championships and reaching the quarterfinals
in that event. He was a five-time selection as Liberty League Performer of the Week.
2008 Liberty League Rookie of the Year
Hameed Ahmed Rochester
(Helsinki, Finland)
Ahmed posted a 20-3 overall record and was named a first-team All-American after
earning the #7 seed in the CSA National Championships. He was a three-time selection
as Liberty League Performer of the Week and was once named Rookie of the Week.
2008 Liberty League Coaching Staff of the Year
Martin Heath Rochester
Heath guided Rochester to a 15-3 overall record, including a 4-0 mark at the Liberty League
Championships. The Yellowjackets earned the top seed in the Hoehn Division at the national
team championships and finished with a final ranking of #10, the highest in school history.
Heath is assisted by Chris Fennell.
