2008 Men's Tennis Awards
The 2008 Liberty League End-of-Season Awards, announced May 6.

2008 Liberty League Player of the Year
Carl-Eric Girardin   Skidmore
Freshman (Lake Bluff, Illinois)
A three-time selection as Liberty League Performer of the Week, Girardin concluded his first collegiate spring season with a pair of wins at #1 to help the Thoroughbreds capture the 2008 Liberty League Championship. He posted an overall record of 16-9 in singles competition and recorded wins at #1 against Middlebury and University of Redlands, both ranked in the top ten nationally.

2008 Liberty League Rookie of the Year
Max Willner   Vassar
(Bronx, New York)
Willner played in the second position for the Brewers this season where he compiled an 18-7 singles record. He partnered with fellow first-year Greg Katz to win the doubles championship at the ITA Northeast Regional Tournament. Willner was a three-time selection as Liberty League Rookie of the Week and was once honored as Liberty League Performer of the Week.

2008 Liberty League Coaching Staff of the Year
Nate Simms   Skidmore
Simms is a unanimous selection as Liberty League Coach of the Year after guiding the Thoroughbreds to victory in the 2008 Liberty League Championships. In just his second season at Skidmore and with four first-year players in the tiop five positions, his team has qualified for the NCAA Championships for the first time in school history.
