2008 Men's Indoor Track & Field Awards
The 2008 Liberty League End-of-Season Awards, announced March 28.
2008 Liberty League Indoor Track Performer of the Year
Peter Kosgei Hamilton
Sophomore (Kapsabet, Kenya)
Kosgei was the NCAA champion in both the 800 meters and the mile, earning All America honors in both events and
singlehandedly placing Hamilton fifth in the NCAA championship team standings. He was named Outstanding Runner
of the Meet at the NSYCTC championships with meet and facility records in the 1000 meters and the mile. He won the
800 meters and the mile at the Liberty League championships, also with meet and facility record times.
He set school records in five individual events and was a five-time selection as Liberty League Track
Performer of the Week this season.
2008 Liberty League Indoor Field Performer of the Year
Geoff Grambo St. Lawrence
Senior (Newark, New York)
Grambo was Liberty League champion in the shot and second in the weight, and was also NYSCTC and ECAC champion in the shot,
improving his own St. Lawrence record. He was an All America with a sixth place finish in the shot at the NCAA
championship. He was Liberty League Field Performer of the Week six times this season.
2008 Liberty League Indoor Rookie of the Year
Dan Ramsey St. Lawrence
(Essex Junction, Vermont)
Ramsey won the 5000 meters at both the Liberty League Championships and the NYSCTC championships. He added a second-place
finish in the 3000 meters at the NYSCTC championships, contributing crucial points towards St. Lawrence's team victory, and
also finished second in the 5000 at the ECAC championships. He was Liberty League Track Performer of the Week on 2/22 and
Rookie of the Week six times.
2008 Liberty League Indoor Coaching Staff of the Year
Mike Howard St. Lawrence
Howard coached the St. Lawrence University men's track and field team to the Liberty League, NYSCTC and ECAC Championships
this season. The Saints sent three athletes to the NCAA championships, the most for the program since the late 1980s.
Howard is assisted by Melissa DeRan, Matt Kuenzel, Bill Lewis, Deb Lyndaker, John Newman, and Erin Woodward.
