The 2009 Liberty League End-of-Season Awards, announced November 17.

2009 Liberty League Offensive Player of the Year
Dave Paveletz   Susquehanna
Senior  Running Back  (Warrior Run, Pennsylvania)
A team captain, Paveletz leads the Liberty League and ranks in the top 10 in NCAA Division III in rushing yards and rushing yards per game. He owns the Susquehanna career-rushing-yards (4,664) and career-rushing-TD records (47). He broke the career TD record this season, while also setting a new SU single-season rushing-yards mark. He was a three-time selection as Liberty League Offensive Player of the Week.

2009 Liberty League Defensive Player of the Year
Gerard Bryant   St. Lawrence
Senior  Defensive Tackle  (White Plains, New York)
Senior co-captain Gerard Bryant lived up to his Pre-Season All-America honors with a stellar 2009 campaign. The White Plains, NY native led St. Lawrence's defense with 91 total tackles at the defensive tackle position. Bryant's 23.0 tackles for a loss led the conference and finished in the top five in the nation. He also logged three forced fumbles, 10.5 sacks and his first career interception in his senior season. He was a five-time selection as Liberty League Defensive Player of the Week.

2009 Liberty League Special Teams Player of the Year
Bobby Eppleman   Susquehanna
Junior  Kicker/Punter  (Chester Springs, Pennsylvania)
Eppleman leads all Liberty League placekickers in both points-after-touchdowns and total points. Twenty-five of his 42 punts this season have been fair-caught and/or landed inside an opponents' 20-yard line. Only one of his punts has gone for a touchback, while three of his kickoffs have. He was a four-time selection as Liberty League Special Teams Player of the Week.

2009 Liberty League Rookie of the Year
Jalon Scott   Susquehanna
Defensive Back  (Albany, New York)
A unanimous selection as Liberty League Rookie of the Year, Scott leads the Liberty League and ranks in the top 10 in NCAA Division III in interceptions. He leads Susquehanna and ranks second in the league with 14 passes defended. He was a three-time selection as Liberty League Rookie of the Week.

2009 Liberty League Coaching Staff of the Year
Steve Briggs   Susquehanna
A unanimous selection of their peers, Briggs and his staff guided Susquehanna to a 6-1 record in the Liberty League, earning a share of the league championship and the Crusaders first trip to the NCAA Division III Football Championships since 1991. The Crusaders finished the regular season with an 8-2 overall record, doubling their win total from 2008. Briggs is assisted by Nate Milne, Brad Fordyce, Bob Pittello, Dan Alderson, Jack Lydic, Scott Knapp, Kyle Ream, Rob Campbell, Satyen Bhakta, John Salvatore, Dan Mehleisen, and student assistant Jarrid Myers.
